Primary Education

Welcome to our school, where we believe that learning should be an exciting and fulfilling journey for every student.

At Port Macquarie Adventist School, our primary program provides a personalised education that meets the needs of each student.

Our holistic approach to education places an emphasis on helping students reach their personal best, while also providing a thorough grounding in key learning areas. Our challenging curriculum is designed to give students a comprehensive educational foundation that they can build upon throughout their school journey.

At PMAS, we incorporate practical, hands-on activities into our programs both in the classroom and outside, utilising the beautiful bushland campus that we have. Allowing students to develop critical thinking and problem solving skills both individually and in collaboration with others, prepares them for future success.

Our classrooms are equipped with up-to-date technology for 21st century learning, including interactive whiteboards and laptops or iPads, providing students with an optimal learning environment. We invite you to come and discover how our primary program can help your child reach their full potential.

Wellbeing

Here at Port Macquarie Adventist School we are committed to providing quality and inclusive learning opportunities for all our students, placing a high level of importance on nurturing student wellbeing and positive mental health.

We have a strong team of experienced teachers, support staff and chaplains who take time to get to know and understand each student. They provide mentorship, guidance and foster belonging and involvement, which helps each student develop a strong sense of positive wellbeing. The school’s therapy dog, ‘Koko’ is a valuable contributor of joy, loyalty and companionship, too. A wellbeing program is delivered across the school from Pre-Kindy to Secondary to help students manage relationships, feelings and self-care.

Extra Curricular

Students have the opportunity to participate in various extra-curricular activities at the school including sports carnivals and inter-school zone carnivals.

Music tuition is available for students who would like to learn an instrument beyond classroom music. This is facilitated by private tutors that attend the school during the day, to save you transporting your child to music tuition after school. Costs and availability can be discussed with the tutor directly.

School camp is a highlight for our Year 5 & 6 students who over the two years attend two very different camps.

  • A Canberra Adventure that takes students on 16 different educational tours and experiences over three days in the Nation’s capital and one snow play day at Corrins Forrest. Students will visit the Australian War Memorial, Parliament House, The Museum of Democracy, The Australian Electoral Commission, The Mint, Questacon, and the Australian Institute of Sport along with other attractions.
  • A Coffs Harbour overnight camp is designed to provide students with a range of outside adventure experiences that promote self-esteem, independence, decision-making, team building and resilience.
